Mid Sussex Labour Party has selected Greg Mountain to contest the next General Election which is to be held in May 2015. Greg’s selection was finalized at a meeting of Mid Sussex Labour Party members on Saturday 10 May in Haywards Heath.

Greg Mountain is 61 and retired in November 2012 as an adviser to Ministers and Senior Civil Servants on topics like collecting Child Maintenance, additional tax revenues and delivering Housing Benefit. Greg Mountain said: “I want to offer the residents of Mid Sussex the opportunity to support a winning Labour candidate who will represent Mid Sussex in Parliament. I am local, having lived in Haywards Heath since 1982. I have spent many years managing and coaching local football and rugby teams, and supporting my sons when they represented Mid Sussex schools at football and Sussex County at rugby and cross country”.

As well as supporting the Labour Party and coaching and watching local sport Greg meets many people. He has learnt first hand of the concerns and issues affecting their lives, such as planning, transport, education, and health services.

Linda Gregory, Chair of Mid Sussex Labour, said “We welcome Greg as our Parliamentary Candidate and look forward to working with him to contest the Mid Sussex seat against the Conservative Party”.
